FOOTBALL FAMILY SHOCKED BY PLS CHAIRMAN’S DEATH

The National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) is very much shocked by the passing on of the Chairman of the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS), Mr. Victor Gamedze. He was also the Vice President of the NFAS and Director of Mbabane Swallows FC. “As football family, we are very much shocked and in loss of words under the circumstances”, said the President of the NFAS Senator Adam Mthethwa. This is a difficult experience for the football family as the President of the NFAS himself found it difficult to adopt to this situation.

On a personal note, the President of the NFAS had good memories with the former Chairman of the PLS as he had the opportunity to be his colleague at the Central Bank of Swaziland and also his manager in football while Mr. Victor Gamedze was still a player. “I had good memories with Mr. Victor Gamedze as he was my colleague at the Central Bank of Swaziland and we met again in the football industry. I was also his Manager when he was still a football player”, he said. The President of the NFAS also highlighted that the gift that the deceased football administrator had, was his friendliness as he had a lot of fun with him.

The head of Swazi football also stated that, the football family will be even more solid during this sad period as Mr. Victor Gamedze was a passionate football person. As the deceased football administrator was the liaison person between the NFAS and PLS; he announced that Mr. Peter Magagula will be the one to play that role. As to the way forward regarding the funeral, the President of the NFAS highlighted that more information will come from the Gamedze family.
