EFA Members

These are the member affiliates of the EFA. They are eight (8) in total. They run the official football business under the auspice of the EFA.

  1. Premier League of Eswatini

    This is an affiliate of the EFA that runs the elite football in the country. It is made has twenty- six affiliates, which are the twelve (14) Premier League and twelve (12) First Division clubs. The PLS is governed by twenty- six (26) Board of Governors which implies that each club is represented in the Board of Governors. The Board of Governors is headed by its Chairman who is also an Executive Member of the EFA. The Chairman is Mr Peter Magagula.

  2. Hhohho Regional Football Association

    This is an affiliate of the EFA that runs the official football competitions in the Hhohho Region. In football terms, this region is divided into two regions. These regions are the northern and southern regions.
  3. Manzini Regional Football Association

    This is an affiliate of the EFA that runs the official football competitions in the Manzini Region.
  4. Shiselweni Regional Football Association

    This is an affiliate of the EFA that runs the official football competitions under the Shiselweni Region. In football terms, the SRFA is divided into two sub regions, which are the northern and southern Shiselweni regions. The Shiselweni Regional Football Association (SRFA) is led by its Chairman, Mr Bhekani Khumalo. He also represents the SRFA in the Executive Committee of the EFA.
  5. Women Football Association

    This is an affiliate of the EFA that runs the official women's football competition in the country. The Women Football Association (WFA) has thirteen (13) affiliates who are the women football clubs competing in the Women Football League. The WFA is led by its Chairman, Mr Sonnyboy Mabuza. He also represents the WFA in the Executive Committee of the EFA.
  6. Eswatini National Coaches Association

    This is an affiliate of the NFAS that looks after the welfare and conducts of coaches in the country. The Eswatini National Coaches Association (ENCA) is led by its Chairman, Mr Anthony Mdluli.
  7. Eswatini National Referees Association

    This is an affiliate of the EFA that looks at the welfare and conduct of the referees in the country. The Eswatini National Referees Association is led by its Chairman, Mr Sipho Kunene.

Competition

There are numerous competitions that are being contested for by domestic and national teams. This implies that the competitions are classified into domestic and international competitions.

U17 Women National Team

The Head Coach for the U17 Women National Team is Promise Vilakati, Nkosinathi Lukhele is the Assistant Coach, Ronnie Ginindza is the  Fittness Coach and Sukoluhle Sibandze is the Goalkeeper Coach.

U20 Women National Team

The U20 Women National Team’s technical bench consist of Siphiwe Simelane (Head Coach), Friday Myeni (Assistant Coach), Ronnie Ginindza (Fitness Coach) and Bongani Dladla (Goalkeeper Coach). Most of the U20 Women National Team players are chosen from the Schools Woman Football development Programme.

U17 National Team

The U17 Men’s National Team will compete in the 2019 COSAFA U17 Men’s Championship in Blantyre, Malawi. This competition will be played as from the 26th to 6th October 2019. The technical bench of the U17 Men’s National Team comprises of Gcina Dlamini (Head Coach),  , Mduduzi Nxumalo (Fitness Coach) and Mphikeleli Dlamini (Goalkeeper Coach).

U20 National Team

The U20 Men’s National Team will compete in the 2019 COSAFA U20 Men’s Championship in Lusaka, Zambia. This competition will be played as from the 4th to 15th December 2019. The technical bench of the U20 Men’s National Team comprises of Dominic Kunene (Head Coach), Sindiso Gama (Assistant Coach), Sipho Dlamini (Fitness Coach) and Njabuliso Simelane (Goalkeeper Coach).

 

U23 Men's National Team

The U23 Men’s National Team normally competes in the Total CAF U23 Championship which is a feeder of the Olympic Games. The technical bench of the U23 national team comprises of Sifiso Ntibane (Head Coach), Clement Mdluli (Assistant Coach), Dennis Fakudze (Fitness Coach) and Bright Nxumalo (Goalkeeper Coach).

National Teams

These are the national teams that represent the country in intercontinental competitions. The national teams' colours are blue, yellow and white. The blue colour is the dominant one on the home kit whilst white is the dominant colour on the away kit. There are men's and women's national teams.

Men

The men's national teams are as follows:

  •  Senior Men's National Team (Sihlangu SeMnikati).
  • Men's U23 National Team.
  • Men's U 20 National Team.
  • Men's U17 National Team.

Women

The women's national teams are as follows:

  • Senior Women's Senior National Team (Sitsebe SaMhlekazi).
  • Women's U 20 National Team.

Player Development

A player is developed on and off the field. Player development involves the following aspects:

  1. Technical Development

This is the development of the technical skills of a player. Technical development includes, passing, dribbling and shooting amongst other things.

 

  1. Tactical Development

This is the development of the tactical skills of a player. Tactical development includes the principles of attack, principles of defence, positional skill amongst other things.

 

  1. Physical Development

This is the development of the psychomotor skills of the player. This includes growth, recovery, speed, coordination and actions amongst other things.

 

  1. Mental Development

This is the development of the cognitive skills of a player. Mental development is also known as the construction of thoughts processes, which includes, preparation, positive thinking, acceptance, sporting culture, hygiene, problem solving and decision making amongst other things.

 

  1. Social Development

This is the development of social skills of a player. The player is being developed on how to prioritize human needs in the growth and progression of society. This includes emotions, confidence, friendship, education, sense of responsibility amongst other things.
