The Senior Men’s National Team Head Coach, Kostadin Papic, has asked the nation to support Sihlangu on match day when they play against Angola in the Total CHAN qualifier match on the 28th July 2019 at the Mavuso sports centre. The Serbian born coach is very much aware of what lies ahead for Sihlangu as he clearly stated that it won’t be easy to get a win against the Angolans as they have a lot of experienced players as some of them were playing in the on-going Total AFCON competition. “With no doubt, they are more experience than us and they are fresh from the Total AFCON and of course their players are living a good life as they earn a lot of money. Also the Angolan and Eswatini top leagues are totally different”; the Head Coach said.
The optimistic coach also highlighted that the national team is not going to prepare anything special for this match but other than to be able to play better. “We are not going to prepare anything special against them but we will prepare in order to be able to play better and better. We want the nation to believe in us”; Papic said. According to him; last week’s training was more physical as they did a lot of running with only Sifiso Matse who was not part of that as he was officially out of camp due bereavement.
As part of the training programme the national team will have practise matches as the coach wants to prepare the national team physically, tactically and mentally. “The aim of having practice matches is to prepare the national team physically, tactically and mentally”; Papic said. The training camp will continue until match day as according to the head coach; the national team is not yet ready for this match.
